Uniforms
Now that we are past Labor Day, we will return to our Field Uniform. Remember that the Troop Policy defines our Field Uniform as a tan uniform shirt with appropriate patches, the Troop 48 neckerchief (or appropriate earned neckerchief), olive pants or shorts, a Troop 48 cap, belt, olive socks (especially when wearing shorts), and appropriate footwear. The Handbook should also be brought to each Troop Meeting and Campout. Even if you are a higher rank, the handbook serves as a reference when instructing younger Scouts.
Popcorn
Please continue to seel popcorn to friends, neighbors, and family.
Parents – If you haven’t already done so, please download the Trails End app and invite your Scout. This is the only way for them to create an account.

General Information
The PLC has decided to cancel the October 3-5 Campout. We will participate in the rescheduled Eastern District Camporee on October 24-26 and our Backpacking Trip on November 7-9. After studying the Ouachita Trail, we found that there isn’t a good segment for the Troop, so we’re going to switch to Montgomery Bell State Park.
Calendar Planning
We will be discussing and voting on Summer Camp options at the next Troop meeting. Please attend to express your opinions and cast your ballot.
Merit Badge Spotlight – Public Health
The field of public health deals with maintaining and monitoring the health of communities, and with the detection, cure, and prevention of health risks and diseases. Although public health is generally seen as a community-oriented service, it actually starts with the individual. From a single individual to the family unit to the smallest isolated rural town to the worldwide global community, one person can influence the health of many.
