PLC Elections
Congratulations to our new Senior Patrol Leader — Carter. He will be supported by the Phoenix Patrol Leader — Zaiden, and the Cobra Kai Patrol Leader — Logan. They will be sworn in at our November 4th meeting.
Camporee Results
We ran two patrols in the Camporee Events. Our three older Scouts competed as a Veteran Patrol while our newest five Scouts competed as a New Patrol. The Phoenix patrol brought home two first-place, one second-place, and two third-place ribbons in the various events and a third-place overall. We had a fair bit of rain on Saturday night, and as we packed up Sunday morning, but overall the boys had a good time. Hopefully, everyone has their gear laid to dry.
Backpacking Trip
On November 7-9, we have our backpacking trip to Montgomery Bell. We are looking for a few more leaders to attend. There will be a backpack inspection at the November 4th meeting, so please bring your pack ready to go. Everyone should have two 32-oz water bottles (at least one wide-mouth Nalgene type). The Scouts will be in Adirondack shelters, so tents aren’t needed. (Adults will tent or hammock near the shelter.) Scouts who don’t have a backpack may be able to borrow one from the Troop, and also water bottles.
Popcorn Reminder
In-person sales are completed, but online purchases can still be made through Dec 2nd. If you are interested in continuing to sell, please let Mrs. Trott know.

Merit Badge Spotlight — Backpacking
Earning the Backpacking merit badge will be demanding but rewarding. Scouts will learn what equipment to carry on their backs and what knowledge to have in their heads. In addition. Scouts will discover how to protect the environment by traveling and camping without leaving a trace. By mastering the basics of backpacking, Scouts will develop an even deeper respect for the outdoors.
