January Campout Fees Due Tuesday, Jan. 5th
The January campout will be backpacking on the Ozark National Trail on January 16th (Saturday) – 18th (Monday) on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend. Scouts must have previously completed a Backpacking 101 trip to attend. The $25 campout fee is due at the January 5th Troop meeting.
Recruiting for New Scouts
We are actively recruiting for new Scouts, so please invite your friends and neighbors to visit a Troop meeting. If you know anyone who is interested, please let Mr. Rob Ragland know. Mr. Ragland is the Assistant Scoutmaster for Recruitment.
Financial Assistance for Skymont Summer Camp
The Troop maintains a Campership Fund for Skymont Summer Camp for those families in our Troop who demonstrate financial need. The program is confidential. If you would like to apply for a Campership to pay for Summer Camp, please contact either Kim Ridenhour, Brian Issing or Frederick Lee by January 15th. Any remaining Campership funds are spread among all participants who attend Skymont to reduce the campout fees for everyone. We estimate at this time that the costs for Skymont Summer Camp will be $200 per Scout and $85 per Adult.
Spaghetti Supper – February 5th
Our 61st annual Spaghetti Supper fundraiser will be on Friday, February 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Scouts will be receiving tickets to sell for $10 each. We need all parents to volunteer, so please let Eric Hube (ehube11@gmail.com) know what job you would like to do. We need parents during the day on Friday to help cook and set up. During the supper, we need parents to help butter bread, wash dishes, carry noodles, help with drinks, or help with the take-out drive thru. Everyone needs to help clean-up. All Scouts need to plan to be there at 4:00 pm in Class A uniform. We also ask that all families bring a dessert.
Updated Troop Policy
Attached is an updated copy of the Troop Policy with some minor edits adopted by the Troop Committee. The Troop Policy is also posted on our Troop’s website. All Troop 48 Scouts, Scouters, and parents should read and become familiar with the Troop Policy.
Kroger Community Rewards
It’s time to renew your enrollment for Troop 48 with the Kroger Community Rewards program starting January 1st. You must re-enroll each year. If you do not see at the bottom of your Kroger receipt, “***KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS***You are currently enrolled with Boy Scout Troop 48 Faith P.C. “, then you are not enrolled. This is a program where Kroger donates money to a non-profit organization based on the groceries you buy using your Kroger card. It doesn’t impact any of your discounts or fuel points, so it’s easy money to earn for the Troop just by enrolling and using your Kroger Card. Attached are the instructions on how to enroll or re-enroll after January 1st.
