February Campout fee due this Tuesday, January 24th
The February campout will be at Moore Woods on February 3-5 and the theme is Traps, Shelters and Survival. Please sign up and pay the $25 campout fee by this Tuesday.
Order of the Arrow Elections
OA elections for Scouting’s camping honor society are this Tuesday, January 24th. OA members, please wear your OA sash to the Troop meeting.
BSA Health Forms – Parts A and B due February 7th
So that we can have the most up-to-date information, BSA Health Forms Parts A and B are due to Mr. Richard Ralph by February 7th with a copy of your insurance card. All Scouts and adults attending campouts should turn in Parts A and B. These forms do not require a doctor’s signature. Part C that requires a doctor’s signature will be due by the end of April. 62nd Annual Spaghetti Supper – Sell your Tickets!
Tickets for the spaghetti supper fundraiser were handed out to Scouts last Tuesday (each Scout received 8 tickets), and tickets are $10 each. For every 8 tickets sold , one free ticket is earned. On Saturday, February 11th, we will meet at the church at 1:00 pm to sell tickets in the neighborhoods around the church, ending at 3:00 pm (wear your uniform). Please turn in ticket money and any unsold tickets on Tuesday, February 14th.
On Friday, February 17th, we need Scouts to be there at 4:00 pm in uniform, and we need all parents to help out. Parents, please let Kelley Lee know how you would like to help - cook, set-up, clean-up, etc. We also need each family to provide a dessert on the 17th. The time for the dinner is 5 pm – 7 pm.
Boy Scout Sunday – February 12th
We encourage all Scouts and their families to attend the worship service at Faith Presbyterian Church to celebrate Scout Sunday on February 12th , in uniform. Please plan to be at the church at 10:00 am for the annual Troop and Patrol photos. The church service begins at 10:45.
Skymont Summer Camp
The Troop will be attending Skymont Summer Camp on June 10-17. The total fee will be $200 for Scouts and $85 for Adults. These amounts are being subsidized by Troop funds per person by $80 for Scouts and $65 for Adults. The first deposit of $75 for Scouts and $30 for Adults for Skymont Summer Camp is due February 7th, or you may pay the full fee if you like. More information will be provided at the February 7th meeting. Please note that Skymont payments may not be refundable, unless another Scout takes the spot. Please make every effort to sign up by February 7nd, as the Troop has to make payment to Skymont very soon after that.
Skymont Summer Camp Financial Assistance
A limited number of Troop Camperships are available to provide financial assistance for summer camp upon a demonstrated family financial need. Scouts are encouraged to earn a portion of their fees in following the Scout Law tenet of, "A Scout is Thrifty". Please contact Scoutmaster Brian Issing, Treasurer Fred Lee, or Committee Chair Kim Ridenhour by January 31st if you would like to inquire further. This program is kept confidential.
