Troop Service Project – Tomorrow Saturday, September 15
We need all Scouts to attend this service project, so please plan to be at the church from 9 am to Noon on Saturday, September 15 to help finish painting the wrought-iron fencing and stain the wood fence. Pizza will be provided for lunch. Wear old clothes for painting – the paint will not be able to be washed out. If you cannot attend, please let your patrol leader know.
Awards Court of Honor – Tuesday, September 18
All Scouts and their families should plan to attend the Awards Court of Honor on September 18 at 7 PM. Please sign up for refreshments on the sign-up genius email sent by Mrs. Marjorie Reynolds this past Monday. Also, if you haven’t turned in your signed Troop Policy Statement page, please bring it Tuesday night and turn in to Mrs. Kim Ridenhour.
New Member
We would like to welcome Rodney Donald and his family to the Troop! Rodney transferred from Troop 57 and attends White Station High School. Welcome to Troop 48!
New Cub Scout Pack
Faith Presbyterian Church is forming a new Cub Scout Pack for children ages 5-10, so if you know anyone who would be interested, please contact Mr. John Campbell (johnccampbellsr@gmail.com) 569-1770.
Troop Family Picnic – Tuesday, September 25
We will be having a Troop Family Picnic instead of a Troop meeting on Tuesday September 25 at the pavilion in Municipal Park in Germantown (between the library and GAC) starting at 5:30 pm. We would like the whole family to attend. The Troop will be providing hot dogs, condiments and drinks (Kool-aid/Gatorade/water), and we’ll be asking each family to bring either a side dish or dessert. Mrs. Reynolds will be sending a sign-up where you can list what you are bringing so we won’t have too much duplication. We will plan to eat around 6:00, so use a cooler if your food needs to be served cold. Bring folding chairs. Scouts should wear their activity uniform, but can wear any Scouting t-shirt (like Class B, but with any Scouting t-shirt).
Popcorn Sale – Orders due October 23
Please get as many popcorn orders as you can – orders and money are due on October 23 for popcorn that will be delivered on November 13. If you haven’t registered on the www.Trails-End.com website, please do that soon. You must be registered on the site to be eligible for prizes. See the attached email for details and popcorn sale resources.
Blitz Weekend starts this Friday and ends on Sunday, September 16th. A Scout that sells over $600 will earn a special blitz prize. This year the special prize is the Ollyball, an inflatable ball that you can color and decorate and is fun to play with. We worked with the owner of this company to provide these to Scouts as a special prize. His son is an Eagle Scout and so we are really proud to have partnered with him. If you want to learn more about this year's prize: https://ollyball.com/pages/faqs
