Troop Meeting on Tuesday
Even though some of us may be out of town next week for Fall Break, there will be a regular Troop meeting on Tuesday at 7 PM at the church on October 9th.
WANTED! WEBELOS SCOUTS!
It's approaching Webelos Cub Scout recruitment time. At this time of year, Webelos in the fifth grade are looking for Boy Scout troops to cross over into. Scoutmaster Issing is soliciting Cub Scout leader contact information so that he can issue invitations to visit a troop meeting and attend our November 9-11 recruitment weekend campout. If you know of boys in Cub Scout packs and can get the name of the Cubmaster of Webelos den leader, please let Scoutmaster Issing know.
Welcome New Scouts
We would like to welcome new Scouts Trey Bell and Owen Winter and their families to Troop 48! Trey’s parents are Rusty and Melody Artz and Owen’s parents are Adam and Courtney Winter.

A smartphone was found in Room 111 on Wednesday morning. If you are missing one, please call the church office at 754-4840 and ask for either Ms. Patterson or Ms. Short.
Advancement Report
Attached is this month’s advancement report. Please check to see if your record is up to date, and please see Mrs. Vietzke if there are any updates to be made.
Bring your Boy Scout Handbook to the troop meetings so that our advancement chair, Mrs. Vietzke, can update our Troopmaster advancement software.
Greenery Sale – Orders due October 23
Our greenery sale is underway! Scouts will earn 60% of the profits for greenery sold in their ScoutBucks accounts. So get selling! All orders and money are due October 23, and greenery will arrive around November 13. Attached are electronic copies of the order forms if you have misplaced your envelope. Remember that Holiday Gift Orders each need their own order form, you can get extra forms from Mrs. Marjorie Reynolds.
Popcorn Sale – Orders due October 23
Please get as many popcorn orders as you can – orders and money are due on October 23 for popcorn that will be delivered on November 13. If you haven’t registered on the www.Trails-End.com website, please do that soon. You must be registered on the site to be eligible for prizes.
New Cub Scout Pack
Faith Presbyterian Church has started a new Cub Scout Pack for children ages 5-10, so if you know anyone who would be interested, please contact Mr. John Campbell (johnccampbellsr@gmail.com) 569-1770. Cub Scout Pack 48 is meeting on Wednesday nights.
CPR/AED American Red Cross Training Opportunity
There will be training sessions on Saturdays, October 20, 27 and November 3 to learn CPR/AED techniques to save someone’s life when having a cardiac event. This training is available to Scouts and adults, and the fee is $61. If you are interested, please see the attached flyer for more information and how to register.
Ice Cream Pails Needed
The troop is looking for up to nine clean, one-gallon ice cream pails with lids. They can be brought to a troop meeting and left in Room 111.
