CORRECTION regarding August Campout

The August camping trip is open to anyone regardless of swimming ability. The park's swim area is attached to our campsite and we will use the BSA's Safe Swim Defense protocol to ensure the safety of all participants in the water activities. All Scouts and Dads who wish to go canoeing on the October campout need to have qualified as “BSA Swimmer” in the past year.

 

Troop 48 90^th Anniversary Celebration – August 17 – Purchase your tickets next Tuesday

Our troop is having its 90^th anniversary this year, and we will celebrate with friends and alumni on August 17^th. See the attached letter for details and the ticket order form. A BBQ dinner will be served, led by our own Richard Ralph and his Serial Grillers BBQ team. Tickets are $10 per person if purchased prior to August 8^th, $15 per person after August 8.  We would like everyone from the Troop to plan to attend this event, so please mark this on your calendars and purchase your tickets from Kim Ridenhour. Since we won’t be meeting at the church at August 6, please bring your money to purchase your tickets next Tuesday, July 30, to get the $10 ticket price.

 

Cub Scout Pack 48

Our Cub Scout Pack will be changing their meeting nights to Monday nights and will be resuming meetings on August 5^th. If you know any boys in kindergarten through fifth grade who would be interested in Cub Scouts, please contact Mr. John Campbell or Mr. Ross Earl.

 

Swim Fun Night – August 6

On August 6, we will have a Swim Fun Night at Germantown Athletic Club from 7:30 – 9:00 PM, instead of the regular Troop meeting at the church. Each person swimming needs to complete the attached Guest Waiver form and bring it with them on August 6. If you are a member of Germantown Athletic Club, please bring your membership pass. This is also an opportunity to take the BSA Swim Check if needed or complete Second Class swimming requirements. If you need to take the Swim Check or need Second Class requirements, please let Mr. Bo Hormberg know by July 30.  All Scouts and Dads need to have passed the BSA Swim Check in the past year and qualify as a “BSA Swimmer” to go canoeing on the October campout.
