Sign-Up for Campouts

To help us better plan for transportation for our campouts, please note the following:

• The deadline for signing up for the campout is during circle-up of the Troop meeting when the list of those who have signed up is read out to the Troop. Any corrections should be brought to the attention of the Scribe at that time. After the list is read, it is passed off several different people who need it to plan for the campout. Because the list is now in multiple hands, to sign up after that point, the Scout must follow the late-sign up procedures that are found on our troop’s website at the following link, calling all of the people on the list -  https://www.troop48.org/f/docs/RulesandProcedures.html, even if it just after the Troop meeting has ended. It’s best for the Scout to sign up at the beginning of the Troop meeting if possible.
• Signing up for the campout requires payment be made at that time. Payments can be cash, checks or Scout Bucks, if you have an available Scout Bucks balance.  If you are making Paypal or Plastiq payments to Scout Bucks, please make those payments at least a few days ahead of the campout sign-up, so your Scout Bucks balance can be updated before the Scout Bucks balance list is given to the Scribe. You cannot sign up without a payment. If you need to pay later than the deadline, please follow the late sign-up procedures.
• Please sign up only with the Scribe or designated substitute if the Scribe is absent.
• If you are not able to attend the Troop meeting when sign-ups are due, please call the scribe or your patrol leader in advance to sign up using Scout Bucks, or follow the late sign-up procedures. Do not rely on email or texts.

If everyone will follow these procedures, it will make our campout planning go much more smoothly. We appreciate your cooperation.

 

Popcorn Sale

Our Scouts BSA popcorn sale is underway, so please sell as much as possible. Orders and money will be due on October 22 to Mrs. Yvonne Gamblin, and the products will be delivered in mid-November.  If you haven’t received your order form, please see Mrs. Gamblin, or the order form can be found online at:  Popcorn Products  Popcorn Order Form  All orders must be entered online using the Scout’s online account with Trail’s End. Parents and Scouts can go to https://www.trails-end.com/registration to set up the account. Scouts that already have an account from prior years but do not know the password or username should go to the log-in screen (https://www.trails-end.com/login) and use the “What’s my username” and “What’s my password” prompts. You can also use your account to take orders online, and there is now free shipping for online orders. There is also a Trail’s End app that allows you take orders using the app and you can also accept credit card payments through the app. Please contact Mrs. Gamblin if you have any questions.
