Troop 48 December Service Project

By Miller Utterback

Each year, Troop 48 organizes a service project to assist those experiencing food insecurity during the holidays. This year, the troop met early to assemble food boxes containing various canned goods and other foodstuffs, including a turkey. Unfortunately, attendance was lower than usual due to travel and other complications. However, the attending troop enjoyed spending time together, eating pizza and delivering the boxes, which were met with gratitude and warmth, as always. Due to the low attendance, the groups we split into were fairly small, and did not interact much. Upon regrouping at the church, we distributed the uneaten pizza, and ended what had been a meaningful event.
