Christmas Food Baskets Service Project
- The date is Saturday, December 14th, we will meet at the church at 8:30 am and return to the church at 11:30 am. We will be volunteering for the Neighborhood Christian Centers to help assemble their 10,000 food baskets. The basket assembly will be at 4148 Delp, Memphis, but we will meet at the church and carpool over there. Participation qualifies for service hours for some rank requirements. The following Scouts are signed up: John Rice, Will Ridenhour, Jonas Earl, Michael Rook, Josh Albert, Tristan Hube, Jake Heckman, and Jordan James. Adults who are driving are Ross Earl, Kim Ridenhour and the Albert family. If anyone else would like to go, or if anyone who signed up cannot attend, please call Kim Ridenhour at 817-422-3136 (cell), and please leave a message. Scouts should be in uniform.
Flagpole Dedication
- We will have a dedication ceremony for our new flagpole on Sunday, December 15th after the church service. Scouts should be at the garage area at 12:00 in uniform.
Unsold Greenery
- We’re reducing the price of the remaining greenery to $20 each. The greenery will be in the garage at the church and can be picked up on Sunday after the flagpole dedication. Let’s sell these last items! Here is what is left: 25” Classic Wreath (1), Classic Spray (2), Victorian Spray (2), Cranberry Spray (2), Centerpiece (1). Consider purchasing one for a Christmas gift!
Higher Adventure Campout
- There will be a campout for older Scouts Dec. 27-29, backpacking to the Stone Door. Please contact Kyle Ralph for more information.
Leadership Opportunities
- We have the following Troop Committee positions open that need to be filled – Recording Secretary, Outfitting Coordinator, Webmaster, Internal Publicity and Membership Coordinator. Also, if anyone could volunteer or has a contact that could help with sewing ribbons on the edges of the Scout uniform neckerchiefs, please let Kim Ridenhour know. Why not make a New Year’s resolution to become more involved, join the Troop Committee or take on one of the open positions? Our Troop needs YOU! If you are interested, please let Kim Ridenhour know, or come to the next Committee meeting on January 6th at 7:00 pm.
Mother’s Neckband Ribbon Order
- Please let Kim Ridenhour know if you would like to order a Mother’s Neckband Ribbon for rank advancement pins. The cost is $7.50 and money and orders will be due by January 14th. There are two choices – one for only Boy Scouts and one for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. If you are missing any past rank pins from Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts, let Kim know which ones you need replaced.
