I hope you’ve all had a wonderful summer! I can’t believe it’s drawing to a close, and weekly Troop meetings resume this Tuesday. We have one last fun activity before school starts up. We have our Ocoee River Whitewater Rafting Trip from July 31st to August 2nd. You need to sign up and pay the $50 fee at the meeting this Tuesday, July 21. You can pay online at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/troop-48-camping-trips.
Remember that the Troop is in Summer Uniforms until Labor Day. Scouts should wear the activity (Class B) uniform to Troop meetings, which consists of the Troop 48 T-shirt in place of the Scout shirt and neckerchief. Closed-toed shoes are always expected (and handy if you are playing Kickball or Soccer).

Reserve the Day
Chickasaw Council is hosting the Bluff City Merit Badge College with the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center and the University of Memphis on August 29th. This will be a BIG event with lots of Scouts from the surrounding Councils. Please plan to attend.
Also on August 29th, Troop 48 will be hosting a Recruitment Campfire at our campfire ring for youth and families interested in learning more about Scouting, Troop 48, or the newly revitalized Pack 48. Please come to support, enjoy the campfire, and answer questions about your Scouting experience. If there is a Scout interested in working on the Communication Merit Badge and would like to be the Master of Ceremonies for this event, I would be happy to work with them on the schedule.
