Memorial Day Service Project – Saturday, May 24th
Our next service project will be assisting with flag placement at the West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, beginning at 8 am on Saturday, May 24th. We will meet at Faith Presbyterian Church at 7:30 am, depart at 7:45 am to arrive by 8:00, or you can go directly to the Cemetery at 8 am. Be prepared for hard ground - bring a screwdriver & hammer/mallet to make a pilot hole for flag. If you plan to attend and haven’t already signed up, please let Bo Hormberg know.
Farewell to Lynn Poore – Tuesday, June 3rd
At the June 3rd Troop meeting, we would like to thank Lynn and Karen for all that they have done for our Troop and wish them a fond farewell. Parents please plan to join us at around 8:00 for a celebration and refreshments.
Updated Troop Roster
Attached is an updated Troop Roster with everyone’s contact information. Please print out the roster and keep it in a safe place in case of emergency and the Troop is mobilized to assist.
Reminder - No Troop Meetings on June 10, 17, 24 & July 1
There will be Troop meetings on May 27 and June 3 and then the next Troop meeting will be July 8th.
BBQ Pork Roast Sale – July 4th
Attached is the order form for our BBQ Pork Roast sale. Please complete a separate form for each order and turn in or email to Richard Ralph. Early ordering is encouraged, so Richard can make orders at lower prices, since the price of pork has increased and will likely increase between now and July 4th. You may want to turn in your orders at one of the next two Troop meetings, since we will not meet again before the deadline after June 3rd. All orders are due by June 26th, and all of the proceeds will go toward a new Troop trailer. Don’t miss out on this delicious BBQ!
85th Anniversary Celebration – July 12th
Attached is the information and ticket order form for our 85th Anniversary Celebration. Please turn in ticket orders and money to Lisa or Dink Adkins. We would like everyone in the Troop to purchase their tickets by June 3rd if possible. We will also have a silent auction for golf passes to Wyndyke Country Club at the Celebration.
Committee Positions
Thank you so much to Fred Lee who has volunteered for the Treasurer position. We have openings for the following positions on the Troop Committee: Secretary, Spaghetti Supper Chair and Chaplain. Please consider how you can help the Troop and if you are interested in a position, please contact Kim Ridenhour. The Troop Committee meets monthly on the first Monday at 7 pm.
Uniform Supply
Could your son use an extra pair of Scout shorts or a uniform shirt for summer camp? How about a spare Troop T-shirt? If so, the Troop maintains a collection of gently-used uniform parts that are free for the taking. If interested, come peruse the boxes in our closet the during one of the next Troop meetings. All we ask is that you return the item or another uniform part so that the supply continues to be available.
