Regular weekly Troop meetings resume this Tuesday, January 6th at 7 pm at the church.
January Campout - Jan 17-19 – Fee due this Tuesday
The $25 fee for the January 17-19 backpacking campout on the Fiery Gizzard Trial in Altamont, TN is due this Tuesday, January 6th. Please sign up by the payment deadline. If the payment deadline is missed, the procedure that the Scout must follow to sign up after the deadline is now posted our on Troop website under “Procedures”. Summer Camp Financial Assistance
A limited number of Troop Camperships are available to provide financial assistance for summer camp upon a demonstrated family financial need. Scouts are encouraged to earn a portion of their fees in following the Scout Law tenet of, "A Scout is Thrifty". Please contact Scoutmaster Brian Issing, Treasurer Fred Lee, or Committee Chair Kim Ridenhour by January 5th if you would like to inquire further. This program is kept confidential.
Congratulations to our 66th Eagle Scout!
Please join us in congratulating Kyle Ralph, who earned his Eagle Scout rank last week and is Troop 48’s 66th Eagle Scout. We are so proud of Kyle!
Troop Trailer Designs
If you have an idea for the design to go our new Troop trailer, please submit that to Mr. Issing by January 20th. Please contact Mr. Issing if you have any questions.
Updated Troop Policy
Attached is a copy of our updated Troop Policy document that was handed out at the December Court of Honor. Please read and become familiar with the document. Current Scouts do not need to sign and return the document, but do need to understand and follow the policy.
Skymont Summer Camp Staff Positions
If you are interested in working a staff position at Skymont summer camp, please see our Scoutmaster, Mr. Issing. Skymont is now accepting applications - go to skymont.org for more information. You must be a minimum of 15 years old and a few staff positions require applicants to be at least 21 years old. Those interested in working on staff contact Scott Martin, Camp Director, atscottt.martin@scouting.org (after seeing Mr. Issing). Troop Committee – Open Positions
We have open positions on the Troop Committee for Secretary and Chaplain. If you are interested in one of these positions, please contact Kim Ridenhour. All parents are welcome to attend Committee meetings. Our next Committee meeting will be January 5th at 7 pm at the church in Room 117.
