PHILMONT – Respond by 10/26

Philmont Scout Ranch is the Boy Scouts of America's largest national High Adventure Base, many consider it to be the pinnacle of Scouting activities. Its 34 staffed camps and 55 trail camps provide an unforgettable adventure in the high country of New Mexico along hundreds of miles of rugged, rocky trails.  Registration will open on October 26th for the Philmont signup lottery.  We are hoping to take a crew in the Summer of 2018 for a 12 day adventure.  Crew size is limited to 7-12 participants, no more than half of the crew can be over 21.  A minimum of 2 adults are required.  Scouts must be at least 14 at the time of the trip (June or July 2018) or 13 and have completed the 8th grade.  We will need an early headcount to sign up, details will be ironed out depending on who goes and their preferences for transportation.

Please let Mr. Hormberg know before October 26th ,via email, if you have interest in going. If you aren’t sure if you want to go or aren’t familiar with Philmont check out this promotional videohttps://youtu.be/Jxx5L872yVc

Adult Volunteers Needed for this Tuesday, 10/25

We could use a few adult volunteers to help take in the greenery and popcorn orders this coming Tuesday, to help check over the orders and count money. If you can help with this, please let Kim Ridenhour know, and plan to be at the Troop meeting Tuesday at 6:45 pm.

Greenery & Popcorn Fundraisers – Orders and money due this Tuesday October 25th

Please sell as much greenery and popcorn as you can before Tuesday, and earn lots of ScoutBucks!  Remember, 60% of the profits for what you sell go into your personal ScoutBucks account, so the more you sell, the more you benefit. Please make all checks payable to Troop 48, and please keep checks separate for popcorn and greenery if possible. Please turn in your orders prior to or at the beginning of the meeting. Some final notes on completing your order forms:

Popcorn sale – Please be sure to complete your prize selection form in addition to your order form to turn in Tuesday. Turn in all popcorn orders and money collected to Mr. Ross Earl this Tuesday.

Greenery sale – Please return any Holiday Gift Order forms you don’t need Tuesday night. Remember, orders that we will be delivering go on the front of the envelope, and Holiday Gift Orders that will be shipped via FedEx go on the back of the envelope. Each Holiday Gift Order needs a separate form filled out with the shipping information. Turn in all greenery orders and money collected to Mrs. Gina Eddleman this Tuesday.
