December Campout fees due this Tuesday, November 29
The December campout will be December 10-11 in Little Rock, Arkansas, hiking on Pinnacle Mountain and camping at Maumelle State Park. The sign-up and $25 fee is due Tuesday. Please make every effort to sign up by the deadline. This will be a one night trip, leaving Saturday and returning late Sunday afternoon. A separate group will be leaving for the trip later on Saturday afternoon due to the Germantown Christmas Parade. If your scout will be affected by an event and needs to come late, please contact Mr. Hormberg.
While we are there on Saturday we will be enjoying a campsite by the Arkansas River, working on advancement and relaxing. Sunday morning we will have a quick Troop breakfast and then go for a non-technical climb to the top of Pinnacle Mountain, which rises more than a thousand feet above the Arkansas River Valley. The mountain's cone-shaped peak has long been a central Arkansas landmark and attraction for outdoor enthusiasts.
December Awards Court of Honor and Troop Christmas Party – December 6
Please plan for Scouts and their families to join us at 6:00 pm in Faith Hall for a potluck meal and our December Awards Court of Honor. There will be a gift exchange for the Scouts, bring a wrapped $15 gift if you wish to participate. Please note the earlier start time at 6:00 pm instead of 7:00 pm. Please sign up for food items in the email from Mrs. Gina Eddleman.
Christmas Food Basket Service Project – December 13
Our Troop will be assembling and delivering 5 food baskets to needy families in our community on December 13th, beginning at 4 pm. We need Scouts and especially adult drivers to volunteer. Please let Mr. Richard Ralph know if you can help with this service project.
New BSA Handbooks
All Scouts who are ranks First Class or below who do not yet have a BSA handbook with the 2016 new requirements will receive one from the Troop. Those who are ranks Star and above will receive an insert with the new requirements for their existing handbook.
Extra Greenery for Sale
If you would like to purchase or sell any of the remaining greenery, please let Mrs. Gina Eddleman know your order (Gina_E@bellsouth.net), and turn in the money to her as well. We have lowered the prices on these items, so they will not be eligible for Scout Bucks.
Holiday Break
There will be no regular Troop meetings on December 13, 20, and 27 (although the Christmas Basket Service project will be on Dec 13th at 4 PM). Weekly Troop meetings will resume on January 3rd at 7:00 PM.
