Awards Court of Honor – September 19
Our Awards Court of Honor will be next Tuesday on September 19 at 7 PM in the chapel. All Scouts and their families are encouraged to attend. For refreshments, please sign up on the website at the following link: Refreshment Sign-Up We still need a couple of refreshment items from the Tortugas and Cobalt Foxes patrols. Thanks to Marjorie Reynolds for coordinating the refreshments!
Popcorn Fundraiser
The sales materials for the popcorn fundraiser were handed out last Tuesday. If you did not get a packet, please see Mrs. Gamblin at next week’s Troop meeting. The orders and money are due on October 24, and the popcorn will be delivered on November 14. If you fill up an entire order form sheet, please turn it in to Mrs. Gamblin to be entered into a drawing for weekly prizes, with the first one due by Oct 2. Scoutmaster Issing’s challenge is to sell $1,000 of popcorn and you will get to put a pie in his face! Also, all Scouts will earn 60% of the Troop’s profit for what they sell in their Scout Bucks account. So let’s get selling!
Recruiting
Our Troop is actively recruiting for new members, so please invite any boys you know ages 11-17 to join us at a Troop meeting. Those who brought a friend last week, invite them back to another meeting. Also, we’ll be inviting prospects to camp with us on the November campout at Wall Doxey State Park November 10-12.
Philmont Training Session – September 23
For the participants attending Philmont next year, there will be a training session at the church garage from 8 am to 10 am on Saturday, September 23. Dress for athletic activities and bring a water bottle.
Required Backpacking Demo for Parents of New Backpackers – September 26
There is a required backpacking demo for Parents of Scouts who haven’t backpacked with the Troop before at 7 PM on September 26th. Please make plans to attend. This meeting is required to be attended by a parent in order for the Scout to go on the October backpacking trip.

We would like to say a huge Thank You! to Bryan Vaux who will be leading the Chess Merit Badge (Bryan is an Eagle Scout of Troop 48).
If you would like to volunteer to help in some area, please let Kim Ridenhour know. We have the Secretary position open and we need more Merit Badge Counselors. There are also opportunities to help those in positions that are already filled, so please don’t hesitate to find out where you can become more involved!
