Campout Fee due Tuesday, September 14
The September campout will be our annual planning campout at Ft. Pillow on September 24-26. The campout fee is $25 per person and the sign-up and fee is due next Tuesday, September 14.
Volunteer Opportunity
The Friends of the Collierville Burch Library need help from youth to unload and stage boxes of books in Collierville. (Across from Walmart on Poplar Avenue) They need help beginning at 4 PM on Monday, September 20 and 4 PM on Tuesday, September 21. Please contact Scoutmaster Issing to get on the list to volunteer, or if you have any questions.
Archery Recruiting Event
A Council-wide recruiting event with free youth archery for 7-14 year olds will be held on Saturday, September 18 from Noon to 5PM in Collierville at Schilling Blvd and Poplar Ave. They will have certified instructors. Any Scouts who would like to attend and promote our unit should wear their uniform and wear a mask. Any youth who want to participate in the archery needs to have a signed permission form (attached).
Parents – Please Plan to Attend September 14 and September 28 Troop Meetings
Our Awards Court of Honor will be held on Tuesday, September 14 in Faith Hall at 7 PM. We invite families to attend, masks are required. We will be kicking off our Holiday Greenery fundraiser that night as well. No refreshments for this. The $25 per person campout fee for the September 24-26 campout is also due on September 14.
Our Troop Family Picnic will be held on Tuesday, September 28 at 6 PM next to the Ralph Moak garage at the church. Please bring a lawn chair. Food will be provided by the troop. Water will be provided to drink, or you can bring your own drinks. Please RSVP by 9/24 so we can have the right amount of food, at this link:https://www.signupgenius.com/
Bring a Friend Night – September 21
The troop meeting on September 21 will be “Bring a Friend” night, so please start talking to your friends about Troop 48 and invite them to attend on September 21st at 7 PM. All Scouts who bring a friend will get pizza for the Scout and his friend.
Popcorn Fundraiser
Just a reminder to keep taking orders and money for BSA popcorn until October 19th. Please see my 8/15/21 email for details. The first Fill-It-Up Prize drawing will be on October 5th – if you fill up an order form, you are eligible to enter the drawing. Scouts will earn 60% of the profit from the popcorn sales in Scout Bucks, so this is a good way to help offset your family’s Scouting expenses.
Just a reminder – Scouts need to bring their BSA Handbook to all Troop meetings
