Scout Sunday – Tomorrow, January 31st – 9:45 am
Please plan to join the Troop in worship at Faith Presbyterian this Sunday to celebrate Scout Sunday (wear Class A uniform). We would like everyone to be in the chapel at 9:45 am to take troop and patrol pictures. The worship service begins at 10:45 in the chapel. Please note this is an earlier time to meet than previously communicated on the Troop Calendar.
February Awards Court of Honor – February 2nd, 7 pm
All Scouts and their families are invited to attend our Awards Court of Honor on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7 pm in the chapel. We will be providing information about Skymont Summer Camp, upcoming activities, and presenting awards to our Scouts, with refreshments afterwards. Please note that there are three payments due at this meeting, so please come prepared:
1) Skymont summer camp deposits - $75 for Scouts and $30 for Adults
2) Campout fee for February Biking campout - $25
3) Spaghetti Supper Ticket money & unsold tickets – turn in to Mr. Eric Hube
61st Annual Spaghetti Supper – Friday, February 5th
Each Scout received 8 tickets to sell for the Spaghetti Supper ($10 each). For every 8 tickets you sell, you get one free ticket. Scouts who do not sell 8 tickets should buy a ticket for their meal. Please turn in ticket money and any unsold tickets to Mr. Eric Hube on Tuesday, February 2nd. Tickets will also be available for sale at the door. Scouts are encouraged to sell tickets in the neighborhoods surrounding the church. On February 5th, all Scouts need to report at 4:00 in uniform. The supper will last from 5:00 – 7:00. Each family needs to bring a dessert, preferably homemade. We need all parents to help before or during the supper, please sign up with Eric Hube. Everyone needs to help clean up.
Welcome New Scouts
We would like to welcome two new Scouts to the Troop – brothers Chase and Teddy Johnson!
Winter Camping Gear Check – February 9th
A mandatory winter camping personal gear check will be conducted at the Feb. 9th troop meeting. A presentation was made to the Scouts on the 26th and the cold weather gear list was distributed. That list can be found here: http://troop48.org/n/gear_lists_for_trips.html. This inspection will be required for all and will be conducted by our junior assistant Scoutmasters. Those not participating will not be able to attend a camping trip.
Updated Troop Roster
An updated Troop Roster is attached. Please keep a printed copy on hand in case the Troop is needed in an emergency when the power is out.
Bring a Friend Night – February 9th
We are looking to recruit some new Scouts to join Troop 48. If you bring a friend to the Troop meeting on February 9th, you and your friend will get pizza! Only those who bring a friend will get to enjoy the pizza, so invite someone today!
Sustainability Merit Badge
Mr. Rob Ragland has sent an email with merit badge details to all who signed up on 1/26. If you have not heard from him but are still interested, you must contact him directly at 901-371-6875 or rbragland@gmail.com. Scouts, please remember to copy another adult on all emails/ texts.
February Campout – Biking
For the February 13-14 biking campout, Scouts will need bicycles with gears. If you need to borrow a bike for the campout, please let Mr. Bo Hormberg know.
