Updated Troop Roster Attached

Attached is an updated Troop Roster with contact information for everyone in the Troop. This file is not posted our Troop website, so please save a copy of it. Also, please print out a copy to have in case our Troop is mobilized to help with a community emergency when the power may be out.

Outstanding Star Volunteer for 2015

Congratulations to Mr. Barry Moore, who won the Troop’s Outstanding Star Volunteer award for 2015. Thanks so much to Mr. Moore for all he does for our Troop!

Webelos Woods – Saturday, May 14th

If you can volunteer to help with Webelos Woods at Camp Currier on Saturday, May 14th, please let Mr. Brian Issing know. The theme of the program is Disability Awareness.

Troop Service Projects

We have two Troop service projects planned in May where Scouts can earn service hours. Service hours are required for the Tenderfoot rank and above (2016 requirements), however all Scouts are encouraged to participate.

Church Service Project – Saturday, May 21st

We will meet at the church from 9 am – 12 noon to help spread mulch in the church’s flowerbeds. We are so thankful to Faith Presbyterian Church for serving as our Troop’s home, and this is a great way for our Troop to say thanks. Wear work clothes and bring a water bottle. Bring the following if you can to help spread the mulch: wheel barrow, rake, pitchfork, shovel, bucket, gloves. If you plan to attend, please let Mrs. Kim Ridenhour know.

Memorial Day Service Project – Saturday, May 28th

This service project will be assisting with flag placement at the West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, beginning at 8 am on Saturday, May 28th. We will meet at Faith Presbyterian Church at 7:30 am, or you can go directly to the Cemetery at 8 am. After the opening ceremony, we will go by the grave of a Troop 48 Alumni to pay our respects.  Be prepared for hard ground - bring a screwdriver & hammer/mallet to make a pilot hole for flag. Wear your Class A uniform.  If you plan to attend, please let Mr. Bo Hormberg know.

Flag Ceremony for Church’s Patriotic Program

We need 6 scouts to volunteer to perform a flag ceremony at the beginning of a Patriotic Program at Faith Presbyterian Church on Saturday, June 4th at 1:30 pm (program begins at 2 pm). There is a rehearsal on Wednesday, June 1st at 6:30 pm. This is an opportunity to complete the Second Class rank requirements for participating in a flag ceremony.  Please let Mr. Rob Ragland know if you can volunteer for this.

Also, all Troop families are invited to attend the church’s Patriotic Program, June 4th at 2 pm. This is a family event and the church’s youth group will be helping with the program. The program focus is on the Bill of Rights and honoring first responders (fire/police/EMT).

July 4th BBQ Fundraiser

Attached is the order form for our July 4th BBQ Fundraiser, see the attached form for the details. Please complete a form for each order and turn in to Mr. Richard Ralph by June 28th.  This is some wonderful BBQ, so do not miss out!  We will also need some Scouts to help distribute the BBQ on July 4th, more details to come later.
