Bring a Friend Night – this Tuesday
All Scouts are encouraged to bring their friends to this week’s Troop meeting. Anyone bringing a friend will get a special treat for themselves and their friends! And there will be lots of fun activities! Please try to arrive at 6:45 pm to get your friends introduced to everyone.
September Campout Fee – due Tuesday
The next campout is the planning campout at David Crockett State Park on September 23-25. The deadline to sign up and pay the $25 campout fee is this Tuesday. Please sign up by the deadline, but if you need to sign up after the deadline, you must follow the procedures that can be found on our website at https://www.troop48.org/f/docs/RulesandProcedures.html.
Greenery & Popcorn Fundraisers – Orders and money due October 25th
Mrs. Gina Eddleman is leading our greenery sale, and Mr. Ross Earl is leading our popcorn sale. If you did not receive order forms last week, please get those from Mrs. Eddleman and Mr. Earl. They are also available if you have any questions. The orders and money are due on October 25th, and the products will be delivered in mid-November. Remember that for the greenery sale, for the Holiday Gift Products that are shipped directly to the purchaser, you need to fill out a Holiday Gift Order form for each item. Mrs. Eddleman has more Holiday forms if you need them, and please return Holiday forms you won’t be using to her. Every Scout or Scouter who sells popcorn or greenery will earn 60% of the profits for their ScoutBucks accounts, so the more you sell, the more Scoutbucks you will have to pay for campouts, trips, Summer camp, etc.
Did you know that you can earn college scholarship money by selling popcorn? If you sell $2,500 or more in one calendar year, you get 6% of your sales in a scholarship fund, and 6% of all future sales are also deposited in that fund. You only have to sell $2,500 one year, and then everything else (even less than $2,500) you sell the rest of your time as a Boy Scout earns the 6%. You can also sell popcorn online that counts toward your total. There are instructions in the popcorn packet on how to set up an online account, and then you can invite all of your friends on email and social media to buy popcorn from you online as well.
