This Sunday, 10/25 from 2 PM to 4 PM – Greenery Fundraiser Order Turn-In
· Bring your Greenery order form, Holiday Gift Order Forms, and money to turn in to Marjorie Reynolds at her home at 2098 Star Meadow Cove, Germantown, TN 38139 on Sunday 10/25 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
· If you have collected cash, please convert it to a check to turn in. Checks should be made payable to “Troop 48”.
· For Holiday gift orders that will be shipped via FedEx, please fill out a separate Holiday Gift Order form for each order. Ms. Reynolds has additional forms if you need them.
· Scouts earn 60% of the profit for the greenery items they sell in their Scout Bucks account.
Display Cases Purchased in Memory of Assistant Scoutmaster Edgar Provine
Troop 48 has received donations in memory of Mr. Provine from his sister Bonnie Provine Windsor, Jimmie James, Tom Phillips, Charlie Howard, and Brian Kelley. Here is a note from Jimmie James:
“As a youth, I knew Edgar for only a few short years, but he and others from Troop 48 influenced my values, ethics, and love of the outdoors. Years later as an adult Scout leader and father, I was able to once again see and talk to Edgar either at various Scouting events or Troop 48 fundraising activities. Edgar will be missed but never forgotten.”
Using part of these recent donations and prior donations, the troop has purchased two display cases to replace the current one in the church’s hallway, which was originally a request from Mr. Provine. They are much taller and will hold more of Troop 48’s historical memorabilia.
Adult Volunteers Needed
· We need an adult volunteer to manage our troop’s Facebook site, posting articles each week. Material for posting will be provided. If you are interested in this role, please contact Kim Ridenhour. We also are looking for someone to replace Kim as Committee Chair. Let Kim or John Campbell know if you are interested in that role.
· The next Troop Committee meeting will be on November 2 at 7 PM on WebEx. All parents are welcome to attend Troop Committee meetings. If you are not a Committee member, but would like to attend the Committee meeting, please let Kim Ridenhour know and she will send you the WebEx invitation.
All Troop 48 in-person activities are cancelled until the church informs us that we can return.
